Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 Update: New Features and Mod Support

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 Update: New Features and Mod Support

The highly anticipated Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 update is set to debut on PC in the first week of September, as revealed by Larian Studios at PAX West. This upcoming update has fans excited for several reasons, with the introduction of official mod support being a significant highlight.

Official Mod Support Coming to PC

Since the game’s early access, PC players have had access to unofficial mods, but Patch 7 will bring tools to create better mods officially. This enhancement is expected to enrich the gaming experience by allowing more creative and diverse modifications to the game.

Future Console Mod Support

While the initial rollout of mod support will be exclusive to PC, Larian Studios has plans to extend this feature to consoles. According to Larian CEO Swen Vincke, achieving cross-platform modding support is a challenging task. He explained, “It’s not the easiest thing in the world because we have to make it work on consoles and on PC. We’ll start with the PC version, while the console version will come a bit later because it has to go through a bunch of submission processes. It also gives us the time to see whatever goes wrong and fix it so we get everything right for consoles.”

Overall, the upcoming Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3 promises to bring exciting new features and improvements, further enhancing the gameplay experience for its dedicated player base.
